What makes it a “Junk” car?

Your car is junk if it’s broken. A damaged car is nothing to us, but it’s everything to a driver.

Your car is junk if the repairs it needs would cost more than the vehicle is worth.

If it no longer makes sense to maintain the vehicle, it’s probably junker, or a clunker.

We’ve taken cars that have been wrapped around a tree and brought in by a tow-truck.

Our cash for junk cars system has taken junk cars that have nothing wrong with them but the airbags have been deployed: that can make a vehicle “junk” too. The average mechanic in San Diego is going to charge $1000 to $1500 per airbag to put them back in.

Why do we buy junk cars?

Nobody should be stuck with a junk car that they can’t get rid of. Top Cash for Cars aims to solve that problem by taking any car in any condition. Even if it’s valueless to you like that, we see the value in it. We’ve got the tools, time, and dedication to turn it to parts. And we’ll pay you handsomely for the privilege.

Our eco-friendly approach to disposal

We use what we can and dispose of the rest with an eco-friendly company that responsibly disposes of the car’s remains. We care about San Diego, and the environment, and want to be able to protect it as best we can. So selling your junker or clunker to us means you’re doing your part to protect the environment as well.

Do I need to smog my car for you?

Most people and places will require you to smog check your cars, selling privately or to a dealership for example. But we don’t care, don’t waste your time getting a smog check when one isn’t required.

Engine troubles

We bought an old school van, nothing much wrong with the body, but the transmission needed replaced, (a four-grand fix) and the carburetor wasn’t functioning the best. He initially spent 2 grand on the car, and it wasn’t worth the time or effort on repairs. He brought it to us, and walked out with cash.

Airbags deployed

This was a newer car, at least compared to the ancient van. It was in a small crash, nothing major, but it ended up deploying the front and side airbags. Needless to say they didn’t have 6 grand to put them back in. They used the cash for their car to get an even nicer one.
